Deck Support Beams

These deck support beams (shown lying across the saw horses) were built on the ground from 2 "layers" of 2x10's, similar to the method I used to build the main ridge beam for the "A" structure (see "Series 20").  I chose this method instead of piecing them together in the notches of the 5x6 upright posts, but if I had to do it over again, I might choose the piece-together method.  As you'll see in one of the following pages, getting these 32' beams into those notches required an involved process.
