Ridge Beam - Upright
After bolting these LVL planks together to form a 52' x 12" x 3.5" beam, I mounted a temporary left/right guide fixture in the middle then tipped it upright. I also drilled holes in either end and tied (2) 100' ropes to it. You can see one of the coils of rope by the lower left of the beam. These ropes were used for manually guiding the beam during installation, as well as for wind anchors once the beam was completely installed.
