Building "off-grid"

May 2007 'vacation':  The main problem with buying a bunch of windows is deciding where to put them.  I'd say it was kind of fun, except I was restricted by a few different parameters.  First, to make sure the wall didn't end up looking like the Partridge family bus -or- as a friend once put it, making the house into a "hodge podge lodge".  Second, I had to be able to build what I designed, which isn't overly difficult, but it's tougher than it looks.  Lastly, the space available had to match the windows purchased, which is the real trick.  I may still get some custom, right-angle windows to fill more of the dead space with glass, but I probably won't check into that until after I install the windows I already have on hand.  So, the design finally settled, I started cutting and hammering like a madman.  Again, look for more details by clicking on the pictures.
